Matt and I have really enjoyed our front porch this summer. Keep in mind that most patio sets cost hundreds of dollars brand new, and that's not including plants or any other details that one would find on a patio or porch. Matt and I feel very blessed that we were able to spend less than $175 for everything on our front porch. Although we still have a lot of work to do on the outside of our home (ie: painting the shutters and the front door, replacing the door knobs and light fixtures, adding window boxes and better landscaping), we have managed to make the front porch look cozy this summer without spending a lot of money. Here's what we've been enjoying so far.....
**********************************************************
.....two $5 tables from garage sales..... |
......a $10 garage sale porch swing and a $10 Wal-Mart pillow (you can read more about that here)...... |
.....two $25 rockers that we scored at a garage sale (you can read more about that here)..... |
......2 large citronella candles and several citronella tea light candles from Flower Factory were only $10. They help create an evening glow and keep those pesky bugs away.... |
..... 5 potted plants and flowers from Wal-Mart only cost $20..... |
..... two hanging baskets and flowers from Lowes for $35..... |
..... a $5 front door mat from Old Time Pottery..... |
....... a $2 Goodwill front door wreath..... |
.....and when we sit on the front porch, we look straight ahead to birds feeding on the Wal-Mart bird feeders and food that cost $15. |
With a little bit of money and some creativity, we've managed to make our front porch a cozy place to enjoy the warm summer days :) |
