A few weeks ago, Matt and I had an overnight getaway for our “fakiversary” - I’ll explain exactly what that is in a later post . Anyway, my mom came up for the weekend to housesit for us. Since we had a few hours before Matt and I planned to leave, my mom and I spent our morning having some mother/daughter bonding time in my small town.
We started our morning at the best donut shop in Indiana – or at least that’s my opinion - Tim’s Bakery. After tasting one bite of their warm, melt in your mouth goodness, my mom completely agreed with me. She even thought their donuts tasted better than Long's (in Southport) and Biff's (in Mooresville). Those are both excellent bakeries south of Indy, so that says a lot about Tim's. If you’re ever in McCordsville, you gotta check out Tim’s Bakery, but make sure you get there early. They often sell out by , and it's not uncommon to see the line extend outside the door.
After our not-so-healthy breakfast, we walked off our calories by walking to garage sales. It just so happened that my neighborhood and the neighborhood down the street were having their annual community garage sale. My mom and I both scored some good deals! I got everything below for less than $15 :)
After a few hours of walking and shopping, I took my mom to a few local antique stores, which she LOVED! I found a few things that I liked too, but I didn’t buy anything…..at least not yet. Since, I like mixing both old and new things in my home, I’m certain I will be visiting my local antique stores again soon.
We had a delightful morning together, but before we knew it, it was time to get back to the house. Overall, it was a morning well spent with my mama. I hope we get to do it again soon :)
